When you use our sites and services we want you to be confident that your personal information is safe and secure. This Privacy Notice and Policy explains the following:
Who we are
We are Compare Compensation Claims Ltd (company number 07218187) and our registered address is 32 Lloyd Close, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 9EH (referred to as “we” or “us” or “our”).
This Privacy Notice and policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed. A reference to “you” or “your” is a reference to a user of our site and/or to a user that makes an enquiry about our services.
How we collect your personal information
We may obtain personal information from you, if you complete a claim form, or request a call back, through our website, mobile applications or other similar device.
If you request a call back or if you call us directly, we will store the information you give us. All calls to our offices are recorded for training and regulatory purposes.
Lawful basis
Our lawful basis for processing your personal data is ‘consent’ and any special category data is ‘explicit consent’ for the purpose of establishing whether you might have a legal claim and to pass on your details, to the approved Solicitors listed in our directory to enable them to communicate with you directly to provide their services.
What personal information we collect
The information we collect may include your name, address, contact details (such as email address and phone number), date of birth, insurance details, national insurance number, details regarding your health and injury and any other information relevant to your claim.
While we always try to get consent from the injured party before processing their personal data, this isn’t always possible (e.g. where the accident victim is a child, non-English speaker, an elderly/infirm relative or where the injured party has consented to another person to provide his or her details to us). In these cases, to ensure that our services are accessible to all accident victims, we may process personal data provided by a third party e.g. the parent of a child, translator, friend or relative.
We will always ask the person providing the Personal Information whether the injured party has consented to the processing of their information. This will be documented by call recordings or live chat transcript with the third party and noted on our internal systems.
How your personal information is used
We use your information:
- to make an assessment on whether you might have a claim
- to pass on your details, with your consent, to the approved Solicitors listed in our directory to enable them to communicate with you directly to provide their services.
- to contact you for your views on our services.
Who your personal information is shared with
We will not share your personal information that you submit to us via our website with any other party other than the approved Solicitors listed in our directory, who you have selected to make a claim enquiry.
If you subsequently sign-up to utilise any of the Solicitors services then you should refer to that Solicitors specific terms and conditions and client Privacy Notice.
Marketing and Communication
You can make use of the search and compare services offered on our website without having to agree to marketing. We will always seek your express consent to provide direct marketing advertisements and communications via a subscription service only which you can unsubscribe to at any time by emailing unsubscribe@comparecompensationclaims.com
How your information is stored
Where we store your Information
The data that we collect from form submissions (entries) are saved to the websites database, located on our hosts sever(s). Therefore the data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). However, it should be noted that our website hosts are compliant with GDPR in that ‘appropriate safeguards’ have been established (being certified under the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield frameworks for onward transfers of EU data to the United States).
The data will only be processed by individuals who work for us. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this storing and processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this policy.
How long do we store your Personal Information
We may keep your information for a period of up to 3 years to deal with any potential complaints and where you have provided the necessary consent in relation to a pre-contractual enquiry. After which, all personal identifiable data will be deleted.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information
Securing your Personal Information
Your personal data’s security is very important to us. This is why, where it’s appropriate, our Sites use Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) to help keep information about you secure.
However, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we can’t guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we’ve received your information, we use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
